Qualification Description

This qualification provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications.

Entry & Admission Requirements

This qualification provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications.

  • Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Applicants must be employed under an Apprenticeship arrangement.
  • Applicants must undertake a Pre-Training Review that includes identifying the course the apprentice is enrolling in as suitable and appropriate for the individual.
  • Applicants are required to be competent in written and spoken English and will undertake a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy assessment prior to commencing the training.
 
This program has been designed to be delivered through a workplace-based delivery and assessment model; therefore, applicants must be currently employed in the construction industry and have access to domestic and/or commercial worksites for the purpose of training and assessment activities. The access to appropriate workplace environments, facilities, and tools, and equipment will be verified through the enrolment process.

This program is delivered under the Australian Apprenticeship Scheme and runs for 36 months. All Apprentices will be employed in an appropriate workplace with supervision from an employer/supervisor. This program is delivered through workplace-based training and Classroom (1 session of 6 hours per fortnight).
